PROFILE RACING
Profile Racing Europe was launched in April 2002 at the bike show and their
growth has been amazing ever since. Profile Racing goes back to the mid 80’s
where a once racecar chassis manufacturer turned to BMX after a daughters
involvement in a St. Petersburg race.
Now in their six year the expansion of the business continues. As well as the
service centre they are now the official distributors of Profile Racing
Components throughout the UK and Europe. The business was started to continue to
promote Profile Racing Inc and to provide customers wishing to purchase product
with the confidence of a UK bases warranty system.
Profile Racing are pleased to be able to support many of the top riders and
teams in the UK and Europe, as well as most of the major events. They have some
top sponsors for 2008 along with newly named Extreme Drinks and long standing DC
Shoe Co. and Fox Racing.
THE TEAM
Harley Taylor
Harley Taylor is the youngest in his age group, turning 8 years old in
December and still riding in the nines!! Harley has been racing for three years
and has placed 4th, 3rd and 3rd in the UK. In 2004 at the world champs in Paris,
he crashed whilst in qualifying position. His bad luck returned to him again in
the 2007 world champs in Victoria, Canada, again crashing out, this time in
second place.
Harley has a busy year ahead of him – which he doesn’t mind in the slightest –
he loves BMX, will wear nothing from a rival company’s product and is a super
natural talent, he’s a sponsors dream!!
Elliot Pateman
Elliot is 10 years old and started racing in 2004. In his first year he had
great success winning National number 1, British number 1 and World number 8. In
2005, Elliot retained his British title and attained European number 6. Elliot
managed National number 3 this year but unfortunately crashed in the British
Championships Final whilst in second place.
Matty Masterson
Matty is 15 and is without doubt one of the most stylish riders in the UK today.
Matty races up an age group and still wins at a national level. He has been with
Profile Racing for 7 years where he has performed at the highest winning
National and British titles in most years. Matty is also one of the riders who
is on the British Cycling Talent Team.
Josh Cheetam
Josh, at 17, has just moved up into the junior men’s class this season – the
first step to Elite. In 2003 he did the double winning the British Championship
and becoming number 1 in the National series for his age group. The following
year he dropped to 5th, 2004 he was 4th, 2006 3rd, 2007 4th.This year he will be
on the number 5 plate. He is hoping to do well this year, as he will be one of
the older ones in Junior Men(17/18 years). He is also part of British Cycling’s
Talent Team Which is looking to train talented riders for the 2012 Olympics. His
rankings for the last couple of years would have been higher but for a couple of
injuries including a wrist broken in two places the first time he rode
abroad(Holland) with the talent Team! He has also won numerous Regional titles
and received two local Sporting awards.
Anthony Tuffs
Elite. Anthony this year raced 19+ men where he doubled winning national and
British titles. Anthony has pure talent that comes naturally, he is a rider’s
rider, and has bags of class, but also takes the moves that other people would
not dream of. He is also a very talented dirt jumper, who this year has
perfected the back flip. He has been with Profile Racing for 6 years. |
